We want our residents and visitors to stay healthy. Making sure the area's water is safe for consumption is one of our key goals.
The City of Litchfield Water Treatment Facility is responsible for the treatment of surface water from Lake Lou Yaeger. Our facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days per week to provide service to all customers.
Our department serves the community by:
Ensuring the end product meets or exceeds all USEPA, Illinois EPA, and Illinois Department of Public Health regulations
Supplying water to other communities and water districts such as the Village of Butler, Three County Public Water District, Montgomery County Water District, Mount Olive, KaHo Public Water District, and the Henderson Public Water District.
